The Venezuelan preacher carefully made his way to the tribal village alongside the Amazon River. Although few outsiders visit there, the preacher was going to speak with the village spiritual leader, in the hopes that the tribe would be open to having a mission group come from North Georgia, U.S.
The village's spiritual man met the preacher and immediately questioned who that tall pale one was with him. The preacher knew he had journeyed alone, but the shaman kept questioning who was the very large and extremely tall light skinned person with him.
Suddenly the pastor's eyes were opened and he saw tons of dark spirits around the shaman. He immediately knew how to respond. "My one God is greater and more powerful than all those dark spirits behind you," he said.
This opened the door for the pastor to share about Christ, and now the village shaman is a believer in the one true God.
The pastor in Venezuela, our own Diliana Worster's uncle, went to ask the shaman about our team from North Lanier coming to visit in July and God used that encounter in far greater ways. God is moving in Venezuela and our team from North Lanier Baptist Church is going to visit this tribe, along with other tribes along the river. They will also do VBS Camps and street evangelism, both in the jungle and in the city.
Please pray for this team July 11 - 27. Your prayers and support are needed.
