Vocalists are the "voice" of the praise and worship. Therefore, there is a great expectation on their part to be ready, prepared, and able to be a lead worshipper, not a lead singer. At North Lanier, we want Christ lifted up, not the best singers. So misdirected ego is not tolerated. At various times, we will have auditions to allow others to be a part of the team. Just because you might be a good 'shower singer' doesn't necessarily mean you qualify to be on the team.

Therefore, the following requirements must be met to qualify for a potential spot on the Worship Vocalists team:
1) You can share the calling God's placed on you to lead in worship
2) You must be a fully devoted follower of Christ
3) You are actively involved in a Life Study group/ Small group outside of rehearsal times
4) You are teachable - musically and spiritually
5) You can share your testimony spontaneously
6) You can sing - able to harmonize, and read music

Auditions are held several times in the year and consist of the following:
1) You prepare any song of your choice (acapella or accompaniament track) - only 1 minute necessary
2) Harmonize with 2 or more song selections chosen by the worship leader (songs done on a typical Sunday morning) - Piano accompaniament provided
3) 10 Minute interview about you, your thoughts on worship, etc

Auditions are not to scare anyone away! They are simpy a tool so that we can evaluate and place people where they are the stongest. Sometimes that means the worship ministry may not be where you are the strongest, but we will help find the place where you are to serve.

The Worship Band is another vital tool God uses week after week to bring HIs people to the throne. Like the worship vocalists, there is an expectation of each player. Psalms 33:3 says "Sing a new song of praise to Him; play skillfully...and sing with joy." Practice is essential and biblical. Because the world demands and expects excellence in music, the church should expect the same, so that we may continue to reach those that need to hear the truth.

Therefore, the following requirements must be met to qualify for a potential spot on the Worship Band team:
1) You can share the calling God's placed on you to lead in worship
2) You must be a fully devoted follower of Christ
3) You are actively involved in a Life Study group/ Small group outside of rehearsal times
4) You are teachable - musically and spiritually

6) You are able to read tab and chord charts fluently.

Auditions are held several times in the year and consist of the following:
1) You must play 2 songs prepared by the worship leader (you will be given a packet containing a CD and lead sheets)
2) You need to sight read a chord/tab chart (guitar, bass, keyboard players only)
3) 10 Minute interview about you, your thoughts on worship, etc
